City of Cards C4.20-21: HERE!

So, of all the people I could quote, I'm going to bring up Dave Chapelle here:

“The worst thing to call somebody is crazy. It's dismissive. "I don't understand this person. So they're crazy." That's bullshit. These people are not crazy. They strong people. Maybe their environment is a little sick.”

 I think that about sums up how Ace feels about all this. To go a little more into detail, while it's been kinda mentioned, freelancers are not part of society. They have no means of acquiring food, shelter, clothes... anything. They have been cut off by the corporate powers that be and are basically non-entities.

So yeah, uh, probably not something he's happy to hear.

I've also been trying to play around with stuff a bit more, so I decided to do a small design thing with Xander:

It's kind of sort of supposed to be reminiscent of Alexander the Great's helmet based off of some paintings I had looked at, combined with a dragon theme as well as some of the same kinds of flourishes I'd used for my card suit designs. Still feel like I want to mess around with this idea a bit more for future ideas.

Well wishes again to the Center for Cartoon Studies class of 2013. You're gonna knock 'em dead.

I'm working on getting myself together for this summer, making sure I have all the resources I need to be able to accomplish all the work that I hope to do. There are a lot of ideas running through my mind.

If you think Plato's being a bit harsh here, I'm not going to say you're wrong. Not every aspect of these guys' relationship is perfect, and it's far from simple.

I am currently at the airport and my way towards Vermont for the summer. Updates will go just as normal. Also, congrats to the Center for Cartoon Studies class of 2013! I look forward to seeing all your amazing work in person!

City of Cards C4.16-17: HERE!

This has really been the section where honestly, there was no good way not to have only a single page update for a good long while. Oh, and yes, that means that this section is now over. Next week, something very different but very familiar.

For the last, I don't even know, two months or so I've also been DEEP in a secondary comic project that is coming to an end. It's also a project that I can't share online because of many reasons, one of which is that I am not the writer, second of which there's been little to know firm agreement on what I can or can't share. So, well, there you go.

Here's a quick something I did while playing around in photoshop, took part of the first panel of page nineteen and made a nice portrait:

Relatively happy with how these pages came out, sorry for the weird screen formatting though.

I also have to get another eight pages of comic done in a very short period of time, finished hopefully completely with no more edits by the 15th, which also happens to be the day I leave for Vermont for four months. There was also a bit of a family emergency this past week that ate into productive time so I'm scrambling to get caught up.

So, um, sorry if I've been a little (unbelievably) stressed and short. Here's a couple of sketches from this previous week.
